In celebration of National Coming Out Day which was this Tuesday, October 11th here are a few ways to show your pride or support.
Mickalene Thomas, an out African American contemporary artist known for her multi media art is the epitome of a Stylish Freethinker. "Any women -- regardless of race, cultural identity or ethnicity -- could look at these images, and something about (the model) -- her elegance, her glamor, her vulnerability, her confidence, her stance, her composition -- will remind them of themselves." says Thomas. It would be difficult to choose my favorite piece by Thomas, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention her commissioned Iris Apfel.
Pura Vida's LGBT collection of hand crafted bracelets look sweet solo but pack a punch when worn stacked. Bonus, some of Pura Vida's offerings kick back proceeds to various charities (to date they have contributed almost 100k). (pictured, friendship pack)
Adidas, Nike and Converse released LGBT Pride collections over the summer. Of course, unless you've got the sneaker hook-up you can't land your hands on a pair now here in the US. But to mend your saddened hearts, you can still pick up an Adidas LGBT Tee.
